Orgyen Khandroling is a not-for-profit organization based in Denver, Colorado. As a community, we have been polishing the jewel of our Denver base since its purchase in 2011. Today, Orgyen Khandroling Meditation Center, true to the origin of its name, has become a place where all the auspicious circumstances have come together to provide a home for dharma to flourish.
You are warmly invited to visit.
The Building
Thanks to over 5000 volunteer hours and generous donations from our members and friends, the Center is now able to provide accommodations for visiting Lamas on the upper floor, a beautiful shrine room on the main floor and, on the lower level, a community room, library, kitchen, monastic/guest quarters and a private office where Anyen Rinpoche offers student interviews.
The Shrine Room
With high ceilings, polished wooden floors, and stained glass ornamented with Buddhist seed syllables and iconography, the OKL shrine room is an inviting and enriching place for practice.
A consecration ceremony took place in 2016 with the support of friends and a wonderful circle of visiting Lamas. (see video) Three golden statues, Shakyamuni, Padmasambhava, and Longchenpa, were central to the ceremony and are now joined by two more: Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava. These statues have been crafted in Nepal by an artist from a family with lineage ties to the Buddha Shakyamuni himself. Hand painted and gold leafed, meticulously filled with texts and sacred relics, they are an embodiment of devotion and blessings. Empowered with the body, speech and mind of enlightenment, the statues carry a living connection to the great masters of our tradition, offering “liberation upon seeing” to anyone entering the shrine room.
The Orgyen Khandroling building and the dharma activity within it are entirely dependent upon the support of our community. You are warmly invited to join us in meditation practice, programs, and to become a member by providing ongoing support.
